Donate Securities (In Kind) – A Tax-Efficient Way to Give
You can donate publicly traded shares, mutual funds, or ETFs directly to the Halton Police Foundation—without selling them first.
By gifting securities “in kind”:
- You avoid paying capital gains tax on any increase in value
- You receive a charitable tax receipt for the full market value of your gift
Once received the securities are sold at the closing market price through our investment management firm, Caldwell Securities, at no cost to you or the Foundation. Please reach out to Colleen Mulholland, Executive Director, at 905-465-8784.
